These boots aren’t made quickly, 9 hours actually.
They’re woven, tightened, adjusted and finished by hand, one strip at a time.

I could make them faster.

I just don’t think they’d be the same.

Some days in the shoe-dio remind me why I started Woven Palm in the first place.

No rush.
No shortcuts.
Just good leather, slow craftsmanship, and the quiet satisfaction of making something by hand.

Sometimes the best designs don’t begin as a collection.
They begin with one customer asking,

“Could you make this… but differently?”

This pair started as a custom Maison Mule.
Black croc leather, but with a platform sole.

Hours of cutting, weaving, lasting and wondering if it would all come together.

I still get super excited watching an idea become something you can wear.

So…

I don’t travel to escape.

I travel to notice.

The colours.
The textures.
The pace.
The way people dress.
The cafés they linger in.
The landscapes that make you stop walking for a minute.
The feelings.

Every trip quietly finds its way back into the studio.

Maybe that’s why Woven Palm has never really been about shoes or bags;

It’s about collecting moments… and turning them into something you can carry home.

The last few months have felt… different.

I’ve found myself questioning not just what I want Woven Palm to make, but who I want to become while making it.

Somewhere between teaching, raising a family, navigating perimenopause and trying to build a small business, I’d stopped leaving space to simply be curious.

Then we took some much needed time and did some wandering …

In Japanese there’s a concept called Ma (間).

It describes the meaningful space between things.

Not empty. Not wasted. But necessary.

Maybe creativity works like that too, and businesses, and people?

Maybe this season isn’t asking me to work harder.

Maybe it’s asking me to notice more.

To sketch more.
To collect ideas again.

To fall back in love with leather, not because it has to become a product…

…but because I love what it allows me to create.

I don’t know exactly what the next chapter of Woven Palm looks like,

but for the first time in a while, I’m excited to find out.

Then comes my favourite part…
Taking them out into the real world.

A café after a cold morning.
A mountain covered in fresh snow.
A bag that somehow works with everything I packed.

If something I make becomes part of someone’s memories, not just their outfit… I’ve done my job. X

I always overpack.

This trip reminds me that I really only reach for three things…

My silk scarf.
My woven leather bag.
And most importantly, my socks that are warm enough for mornings around the fire.

Simple. Not more.

Just the pieces you’ll keep reaching for.

A few weeks ago I shared a story saying I was finally making myself a pair of marshmallow pink Sorrentos.

Then @jessiebella3 messaged me from hospital.

She’d just been through treatment for bowel cancer.

There was no hesitation. They became hers instead. 🫶🏼

One of the things I love most about running a small business is that there are no board meetings or approval processes. Sometimes it’s simply a conversation between two women, and a pair of shoes made with care.

Jessie, thank you for letting me be a tiny part of your journey. I hope these make you smile every time you wear them. 🤍

It’s moments like these that remind me Woven Palm has always been about more than shoes.

I’ve always believed the best accessories aren’t the loudest ones.
They’re the pieces that quietly pull an outfit together.

A white tee.
A knit.
A blazer.
A denim jacket.

Tie it around your neck, your hair or your bag, and suddenly the whole outfit feels considered.

Buying less only works when the pieces you own can be worn a hundred different ways.

That’s exactly why I designed this one. 🤍

Ten years ago I thought I was just making shoes, but
looking back, I was building a life.

A studio where my son grew up playing amongst leather offcuts.

A place where ideas became patterns, and patterns became pieces that travelled the world.

Woven Palm has never been about chasing trends.
It’s always been about making beautiful things slowly, with my own two hands.
