Towards the end of 2016, I was beginning to become slightly overwhelmed with the number of sandal brands out there and began to question my motives.
I love what I do and there’s no doubt that I would continue making slides, but ‘what makes Woven Palm slides different from any other?’ was my big question.
- Handmade… Check. (by one person AND the creator of the brand… Check)
- Quality materials… Check.
- Comfortable… Check.
- Affordable… (for a 4 hour handmade product?) Check.
- Versatile… Check.
- Dapper 😉 … Check.
BUT SO ARE ALL THE OTHER BRANDS!
I needed a point of difference and through marketing seemed like one of the right avenues to take. So, I contacted Staley. For those of you who don’t know this prodigy of underwater photography, Andy Staley is man you need to shoot subaquatic product. We drove out to Booloumba Creek with a good friend of mine, Frankie, and began. I think the final result is pretty magic.
