The Great Ocean Road – Dean Walters

After 3 years of making women’s slides, I needed to convince my husband (who literally wears either decade old Cons or nothing on his feet) that ‘man slides aren’t that cheesy’.

So after a few days of trial and error with pattern cutting & lasting, The Barclay revealed itself.

I’m not going to lie, he was pretty reluctant, but after only an hour of wearing them I actually convinced him! “Not bad babe” were his exact words.

Now, I couldn’t just take his word, so I made a few more pairs and began my market research. I discovered that not all men like the ‘chunky’ look, so the male version of The Sorrento came into play. I also learned that some men like that extra little bit of security around their big toes so they can just ‘slip ’em on and run into the rainforest to find that bird with the elusive call’ (Strathy). So, The Batari needed to man up and fill that particular role.

Dean Walters is the man behind the lens, and what an epic eye he has – although I’m sure those eyes would have preferred to be looking at female legs in slides.

So there you have it… 3 styles to cater for men and their different footwear needs. The Barclay, The Batari & The Sorrento mandals. Men need something nice to wear too.
